Signed, Steeled and Delivered: Cable Knit Sweater, Button Down Shirt

In which episode does Laura explore her friendship with Remington as they run from shadowy figures?

Well, she does that in many episodes, but today we're talking about "Signed, Steeled and Delivered" (Season 1, Episode 4  of  Remington Steele).

Hello! This is Laura Holt's Closet, discovering the secrets of TV costumes and how to use them for our own wardrobe.

This episode of "Remington Steele" has international intrigue, CIA connections and, of course, humor. There's always humor.

Because they are escaping the grip of assassins, Laura doesn't have much time to change clothes. She spends most of the episode in one outfit. It's a cocoa-colored, cable knit sweater, chocolate brown button down shirt and black slacks. (They could be corduroy slacks, but it's difficult to tell).

It's a layered, autumnal look, perfect for changes in weather or just changes in body temperature. If she gets too warm while running away from the bad guys, off comes the sweater and she has a perfectly serviceable shirt underneath. When the temperature drops at night and she's sleeping in the car, she can don the sweater again.

A functional detective ensemble.

To complete the austerity theme, Laura wears no jewelry. It's not clear if she even wears her usual wristwatch this time.

Let's recreate this look.

------------------------------------------
It's autumn and our heroine looks like a cozy cup of hot chocolate. What a great way to fall into the season.

What will Laura wear next?
